Finding time...
I took a full 3 weeks off after the marathon to let all of the little nagging aches and pains heal up. I didn't have any significant pain and could have started running sooner, but didn't see any need to push myself. The first week back I ran a slow 30 miles. The last two weeks have been at a slightly faster pace and intensity (7 mph, 2% incline). I'm going to add in a tempo run starting this week.
I haven't had any issues while running. My main problem has been trying to get into some sort of routine running at night. There's just too much going on and I end up skipping a run or starting late and cutting the run short because it's too late. I'm not 'training' for anything right now, but my goal is to run an hour a day for 5 days and 2 hours on the 6th. So far I've had 2 weeks with a total of 5 runs and last week I only managed to fit in 4 runs. I think it's time to just go to bed earlier and get back into my morning routine. It just seems to work better for me. Hopefully it won't take too long to readjust my schedule, but I have a full two months before starting training for next year's Vermont City Marathon.
