Week 6
So if you're going to follow a training plan, it probably makes sense to follow the plan in all of the gory details and not just in the type of run and total mileage. Tuesday was supposed to be a lactate threshold run. I guess the part where it says 'the pace that you could currently race for one hour' doesn't really mean what you did a year ago. I tried to go at last year's peak pace and of course that was a very bad idea. Didn't end up being a LT run... I ended up only doing 7 of the 9 miles scheduled. Next week doesn't have a LT run, so I'll try it again next Tuesday at a more reasonable pace.
The rest of the week was as scheduled (12, 5, 11, 5, 17). Total for the week was 57 miles. My legs are just a little bit tight after the long run, but no major aches or pains going into next week. I'm still planning on trying the LT run again next week.
