New weekly high

Friday's run was uneventful. I didn't get up early enough and was feeling a little bit rushed so I did the originally scheduled 12 miles instead of the 14 that I had planned. Easy 5 mile recovery run on Saturday.

I've been thinking about my long run paces this week and decided that instead of doing all of my runs at 2% incline, that I should do some of them at a lower incline and faster pace. The treadmill equivalence chart I found shows that 7 mph at 2% is almost the same level of effort as 7.2 mph at 1.5% (8:10 vs 8:08) so I decided that I'd try that today. I felt fine during the run. Miles 18-20 were more of an effort but I didn't feel that pace was too fast. The last couple of miles weren't as bad as Monday's long run, but I also finished this run earlier in the day and I turned down the heat before starting my run today, so I'm sure that helped at least a little bit.

Total for the week was 71 miles which beat my previous weekly high by 1 mile. Of course running two long runs had a lot to do with that. I'm just glad that I was able to get in the long runs and enough of the other runs for the week without hurting myself. Next week only has 55 miles on the schedule so hopefully this week won't affect next week and I can get back on schedule.
