Training for Boston 2007
This summer I did a lot of 5 mile runs with some speed work. There were a lot of 25-35 mile weeks and a few weeks that were only 10 or 15 miles. I got in a couple of longer runs to get ready for the 2 half marathons I ran over the summer.
I started training on Oct 30th for the Boston Marathon. I didn't push myself the first couple of days while trying to get back on a morning schedule and a regular training routine. Since then, I've felt strong on all of my runs. I've had some problems fitting my Saturday recovery run into my schedule, but other than that, I've been on schedule.
So far I've finished 4 weeks of training (40, 47, 56 and 52 miles) with long runs of 13, 14, 16 and 17 miles. I ended up with 213 miles for November.

Joe, great blog and good luck in your Boston training. I was blessed enough to have run it in 2000, 2001 and 2002 and there is nothing like it. If you get a chance, please visit my running web site, Faithful Soles. I have a Running Blog Database on there and would love to have your blog linked it. If you want to read a really great inspirational story about an event I witnessed at the 2000 Boston Marathon, please read The Greatest Marathoner. I also have my own blog, but most of my information is on the main web site. Thanks and continued good luck in your training.
